The 1938 Munich agreement destroyed all our hopeful visions,as the country became Hitler's occupied territory. In 1945 Prague was liberated and in 1948 there was a communist coup. In 1968 the dreams of Prague Spring were crushed by the tanks of the Warsaw Pact states. Twenty years of political and cultural gloom followed.The 1989 Velvet Revolution brought new hope,and since then much progress has been made.Take to the streets of Prague and ,assisted with a collection of unique photos,relive these crucial events of the 20th century and experience Prague's continuing transition.per person € 15

After a short tram ride we will visit a Royal Garden, all the castle's courtyards, the biggest church in Bohemia - St. Vitus Cathedral, the tiny houses in the Golden Lane and much more. For the past millennium Prague Castle has formed a city panorama and symbolized the glorious past of the Czech nation being a place where many significant events in Czech history took place. These words of one of Kafka's contemporaries characterize exactly the relationship between the world famous writer and his native city. You will walk through the same streets as Kafka did numerous times, you will see the places important to him, and. also the places which were sources of his inspiration. One Czech proverb says, "Every Czech is a musician". On this walk we would like to introduce you to Czech history against a background of musical development. At the end of the walk you will come to the conclusion that he who described Prague as "a conservatory of Europe" was not far from the truth and that music has always played an important role in the lives of Czechs. Hussites and their choral tradition, the baroque operas, W.A. Mozart, the patriotic balls of the 19th century, B. Smetana & A. Dvorak. Some of them based on a historical fact, some others just work of imagination. So come and listen the well known and the less known stories of Old Prague .The secret of the Clock, the ghosts of the executed Czech nobles, the magic sword hidden inside the Charles bridge, the lost Jesuits' treasure… When it is getting darker ghosts and some other supernatural powers are taking over the city. The Jewish Quarter, daily 10 a.m.
This walk will get you acquainted with the unique Prague Jewish Quarter. Its history can be traced from the early Middle Ages till the present day. Learn about Rabbi Loewe & Golem, M. Maisel & his wealth, the synagogues, the changing status of Prague's Jewish community over centuries, the ghetto abolishment and the reasons for the clearance and the redevelopment of the area. History of the Jewish Quarter is full of captivating, mostly sad, but also sometimes humorous stories of its inhabitants.
